Are you an experienced Pastoral Attendance Officer looking for a rewarding opportunity in education?
A specialist PRU school in West Drayton is seeking a dedicated and proactive Pastoral Attendance Officer to join their pastoral team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pastoral Attendance Officer who is passionate about improving attendance, supporting vulnerable young people, and helping students overcome barriers to education.
The successful Pastoral Attendance Officer will play a vital role in monitoring attendance, building relationships with families, and working closely with staff to improve student engagement and outcomes.
The Role
As a Pastoral Attendance Officer, You Will
- Monitor and track student attendance across the school.
- Identify patterns of absence and implement attendance interventions.
- Conduct attendance meetings with parents, carers, and external agencies.
- Support students with barriers to learning and school engagement.
- Work alongside safeguarding, pastoral, and leadership teams.
- Carry out home visits where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and reports.
- Promote positive attendance and punctuality throughout the school.
The Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Pastoral Attendance Officer Will Have
- Previous experience as a Pastoral Attendance Officer, Attendance Officer, Family Liaison Officer, Welfare Officer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of attendance procedures and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable young people.
- The ability to manage challenging situations professionally and calmly.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH school, or SEN setting would be highly beneficial.
