We’re hiring an Attendance Officer and Administrator to join our supportive team at Sapientia Education Trust. This role plays a crucial part in fostering students’ academic and personal development, focusing on attendance, wellbeing, and behaviour.
About the Role
The Attendance Officer and Administrator will:
- Work as an active member of the Student Support Team, ensuring efficient administrative processes.
- Provide tailored support for students facing challenges related to attendance, wellbeing, and behaviour.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and colleagues—often delivering a calm, professional response in tricky situations.
- Collaborate closely within a resilient, hardworking team that prioritises student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve student attendance, addressing gaps promptly and sensitively.
- Support vulnerable or challenging students, requiring patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Handle parent/carer interactions with professionalism while resolving concerns effectively.
- Liaise between students, staff, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support strategies.
- Maintain accurate administrative records for students requiring additional provisions.

Essential Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with students and families.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven empathy and a caring nature, ideally from experience in education or youth support.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Commitment to the school’s core values—Commitment, Acknowledgement, Respect, and Excellence.
Desirable but Not Mandatory
- Prior experience working as an Attendance Officer, SEN Administrator, or pastoral support professional.
