Attendance Officer
Attendance Officer – The Rural Enterprise Academy
Organised, proactive, and professional Attendance Officer
We are seeking an Attendance Officer to play a key role in promoting excellent attendance across The Rural Enterprise Academy, working closely with pupils, families, pastoral staff, and external agencies to ensure pupil engagement and achievement.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring attendance closely and identifying concerns
- Maintaining accurate attendance records and analysing data
- Following up on pupil absences and conducting interventions
- Supporting safeguarding procedures and fostering strong working relationships
- Implementing strategies to improve pupil engagement, attendance, and academic achievement
Responsibilities
- Track, record, and report attendance trends and compliance
- Develop and deliver targeted support plans for pupils at risk of low attendance
- Work collaboratively with families, pastoral staff, and external agencies (e.g., social workers, education welfare officers)
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers to resolve awareness absences
- Contribute to school improvement initiatives and safeguarding safeguards
- Hold a keen interest in data analysis, keen eye for detail, and reliable administration skills

Requirements
- A proactive approach with strong organisation and communication skills
- Experience or interest in working with children and families
- Ability to build positive relationships while applying high expectations
- Knowledge of school safeguarding policies and Statutory guidance preferred
- Availability to work closely with school staff during school hours
- Passion and commitment to improving pupil attendance and achievement across the trust
