Work Location: Elizabeth II Court, Winchester (Hybrid Working)
Hours per week: 37
Contract Type: Permanent (Term Time Only)

The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join Hampshire’s Inclusion Support Service as an Attendance Support Worker, where you will support vulnerable children and young people to engage in education, improve attendance, and overcome barriers to learning. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in a school attendance role, who can bring practical knowledge of attendance processes and effective interventions.

As part of the School Attendance Support Team, you will act as a key point of contact for attendance-related queries, manage referrals and casework, and work collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals to improve outcomes. You will have strong communication, organisational, and IT skills, along with a professional, empathetic, and flexible approach in a fast-paced environment.

Take a look at our Candidate Pack for more information about the Attendance Support Worker role, team, and our values. The section ‘About you’ explains what specific knowledge, skills, and experience we want you to tell us about. Make sure you explain how you meet these requirements and demonstrate our values in your application.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as a key point of contact for attendance-related queries from schools, parents, and partner agencies.
  • Managing referrals, maintaining accurate databases, and producing clear reports.
  • Holding and managing a caseload, providing direct support to children, young people, and families.
  • Working collaboratively with schools and professionals to coordinate support and improve attendance outcomes.
  • Undertaking Section 19 enquiries, working with parents, schools, and partner agencies to understand each child’s circumstances and determine whether suitable education provision is required in line with Local Authority duties.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
