Audio Visual Design Engineer
Salary: £50,000–£70,000 (depending on experience and skill set)
Location: Slough (Hybrid – minimum three days per week in the office, or as required by business needs)
PropRec are pleased to be working with this leading Global AV systems integrator, supporting the delivery of innovative technology solutions that enable seamless collaboration and connected workplaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in the architecture, design, planning, and implementation of integrated audio, video, and control systems
- Produce high-quality technical documentation in accordance with established technical standards
- Create detailed CAD drawings, including signal flow diagrams, floor plans, elevations, and technical bills of materials (BOMs)
- Research, evaluate, and specify appropriate AV hardware and software solutions
- Design integrated AV systems that meet client requirements while adhering to industry best practices
- Collaborate with project delivery teams throughout implementation to ensure successful project execution
- Provide technical support during project delivery, commissioning, and handover where required

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an Audio Visual Design Engineer role (preferred)
- Previous experience within a professional AV installation and service environment
- Strong knowledge of AV control systems, including Crestron, QSC, Extron, and AMX
- Experience with DSP platforms such as Biamp, QSC, ClearOne
- Proficient in producing and interpreting single-line diagrams, architectural, construction, and electrical drawings
- Good commercial awareness with the ability to design technically robust and cost-effective solutions
- Strong understanding of engineering schematics and the ability to clearly communicate design intent to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- CTS or CTS-D certification is desirable but not essential. Additional manufacturer certifications (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, or Shure) would be advantageous
