Job Description

  • Position: Audiology Degree Apprenticeship (BSc (Hons), tuition fee free)
  • Salary: £25,272 per annum (NHS Band 2)
  • Hours per Week: 37.5
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Duration: 4 years
  • Outcome: Guaranteed NHS Band 5 position upon graduation

Key Responsibilities

As the successful applicant, you will:

  • Gain foundational audiology skills, progressing to:
    • Assessment and fitting of hearing aids
    • Conducting patient consultations
    • Delivering audiological interventions in outpatient clinics (under supervision before developing independence)
  • Study at university while working clinically within our Audiology department
  • Attend residential courses (funded by the Trust)
  • Develop competence across areas such as paediatrics, vestibular rehabilitation, and tinnitus management
  • Become an autonomous clinician after qualifying

Progression & Career Development The trust offers varied work in paediatric audiology, vestibular testing, and tinnitus support. Upon completion, you’ll receive a guaranteed Band 5 post in our Audiology department.


Requirements

Academic Entry Criteria

An enthusiastic applicant must have:

  • Two A Levels (or equivalent)
    • One of which must be a science subject (preference given to Biology)
  • GCSE Maths and English:
    • At least a Grade 4 (C) or above
