TPF Recruitment, we are proud to be supporting a leading accountancy practice in their search for a Business Services Group Manager to join their growing team in a mixed audit and non-audit role. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Accountant with a strong background in general practice, audit and the charity and not for profit sector. The role has arisen partly to provide maternity cover while also supporting the firm’s continued growth, making this a permanent and rewarding career opportunity. The firm is a well-established and respected practice with a strong reputation for delivering high quality audit, advisory and compliance services. As Business Services Group Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, lead audit assignments and independent examinations, oversee statutory accounts preparation and review, and support wider advisory and compliance work. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff, managing workflow and contributing to the continued development of the team. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Office Management • Support the wider management team with workflow planning and team development • Ensure work is delivered to a high technical standard and within deadlines • Manage engagement budgets and timelines effectively • Contribute to operational planning and process improvements • Support the continued growth and development of the department Team Management • Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members • Provide training and support to less experienced staff • Review work and provide regular feedback • Encourage collaboration and maintain high service standards across the team Portfolio and Client Management • Manage a varied portfolio of clients • Act as a key point of contact, building and maintaining strong client relationships • Prepare and review statutory accounts in line with relevant regulations • Oversee and review independent examinations • Provide support on non-audit assignments including advisory and compliance work • Ensure excellent client service across all assignments Audit and Compliance • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion • Ensure audits are delivered efficiently and to a high standard • Work closely with charity and not for profit clients on specialist accounting matters • Maintain strong knowledge of charity accounting requirements and regulations Business Development and Expansion • Support business development initiatives where appropriate • Identify opportunities to grow service lines and strengthen client relationships • Contribute to the continued growth of the firm and management team

Requirements Skills and Experience Required • Fully qualified ACA or ACCA • Proven experience in audit, with a strong focus on the charity sector • Experience managing client relationships and leading engagements • Broader experience across non-audit or advisory assignments • Good working knowledge of charity accounting requirements and independent examinations • Strong technical, organisational and problem-solving skills • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues • Proactive, with a desire to contribute to team growth and development • Experience supporting or training junior staff • Experience at Manager level or ready to step up into a managerial role • Business development experience would be advantageous
