Defined Route to Partnership | RI Pathway | Hybrid Working but must live within commute to Leatherhead
Fletcher George Recruitment is supporting a growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Surrey with the appointment of an Audit and Accounts Director as part of its succession planning.
This is a leadership opportunity offering a clear and structured route to Partnership. Roles at this level within independent firms are selective, particularly where there is genuine scope to progress to Partner and achieve Responsible Individual (RI) status.
The Opportunity
This role has been created to support the firm’s continued growth across audit and advisory services. You will work closely with the Partners, taking on responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients while contributing to the future direction of the firm.
The position offers flexibility to shape the role around your strengths, whether your background is more audit-led or broader across accounts and advisory.

As an Audit and Accounts Director based in Surrey, you will take on a key leadership role within the firm.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading audit assignments and overseeing delivery across a diverse client portfolio
- Supporting statutory accounts review under UK GAAP (FRS 102)
- Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships
- Working closely with Partners on strategy, growth and succession planning
- Supporting business development activity across Surrey and the South East
- Mentoring and developing team members within an ACA / ACCA training environment
- Progressing towards Responsible Individual (RI) status and Practising Certificate
About You
We are keen to speak with individuals who bring:
- ACA or ACCA qualification
- Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice across audit and accounts
- Experience operating at Senior Manager or Director level
- The ambition to progress to Partnership
- Interest in achieving RI status and a Practising Certificate
- A commercial and relationship-led approach to client work
- Full Right to Work in the UK without Sponsorship

The role is based in Surrey and is commutable from Woking, Guildford, Leatherhead, Redhill, Reigate, Horsham and surrounding areas.
