Job Opportunity: Audit and Accounts Senior

Location: Guildford

About the Role

As part of the audit and accounts team, you will have the chance to work closely with clients, contributing to a team that helps them achieve their business and personal goals. Their clients represent a wide range of sectors and regions, united by their innovative ideas and successful enterprises. You will play a key role in supporting their success by working collaboratively with the practice's partners. Clients rely on your expertise for making crucial business decisions and developing strategies, offering excellent learning opportunities for staff, as business advice is a significant aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing accounts for statutory, management, and ad hoc purposes
  • Planning, budgeting, finalising audit files, and managing the audit process efficiently
  • Collaborating with the team to meet all deadlines and exceed client expectations
  • Delegating and overseeing work, providing learning strategies for trainees
  • Mentoring and supporting trainees
  • Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities or improvements for clients by challenging existing methodologies
  • Supporting Managers and Partners with their portfolios and special projects

Requirements

  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) (ideally)
  • Proficiency in various accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, and Iris is advantageous but not essential)
  • Solid audit experience, or a strong willingness to learn
  • Excellent analytical skills with a commercial approach to assignments
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience in managing audit and accounts preparation from planning to completion
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proactive and determined attitude
