About the Role
The Audit and Guidelines Midwife will ensure the coordination of the clinical audit programme within Maternity Services. This role involves:
- Providing expert advice and promoting clinical audit and quality improvement projects.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of evidence-based guidelines, including:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Policies
- Patient information leaflets
- Working closely with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and Quality and Safety team to co-produce essential maternity documents for the Women’s and Newborn Division.
The role also includes supporting the quality governance agenda, under the guidance of the Quality and Safety Matron (Maternity and Neonates).

- Coordinate evidence-based guidelines (SOPs, LOCS IPs, and patient leaflets) alongside clinical audit.
- Support and promote clinical audit and quality improvement relevant to maternity services.
- Contribute to fostering a learning environment, acting as a:

- Less experienced midwives
- Student midwives
- Other relevant staff
