Audit Director - London - £100,000 - £120,000
Our client, a leading UK accountancy and business advisory firm, is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Director to join its growing Audit team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished audit leader looking to take ownership of a significant client portfolio while playing a key role in the firm's continued growth, audit quality, and strategic development.
Working closely with Partners and senior leadership, you'll oversee complex audit engagements, develop high-performing teams, and contribute to the firm's long-term success.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading a portfolio of complex audit clients across a variety of sectors.
- Building and strengthening long-term client relationships with business owners, finance leaders, and boards.
- Providing strategic advice to clients and identifying opportunities to deliver additional services.
- Leading large and technically complex audit engagements from planning through to completion.
- Ensuring the highest standards of audit quality, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting and mentoring Senior Managers, Managers, and wider audit teams.
- Driving business development activity, winning new work, and expanding existing client relationships.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple service lines.
- Leading departmental initiatives focused on audit quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the adoption of new technologies and digital audit solutions.
- Managing engagement profitability, budgeting, and commercial performance.

About You
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
- Extensive external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
- Significant experience managing a large and diverse audit portfolio.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing standards, UK GAAP, and IFRS.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
- Experience managing complex client engagements and delivering exceptional client service.
- A proactive and collaborative leadership style.
