The Role

As an Audit Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the firm, responsible for driving the continued growth and development of the audit and assurance service line.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic direction, oversee key client relationships, and lead the delivery of high-quality audit services across a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across the audit and assurance function
  • Lead the growth and development of the audit service line
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of key audit clients across a range of sectors
  • Maintain strong relationships with business owners, directors, and senior stakeholders
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality audit assignments in line with professional and regulatory standards
  • Support business development activities, including tenders, proposals, and new client opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and expand service offerings
  • Mentor and develop managers, senior managers, and wider audit teams
  • Drive improvements in audit quality, processes, and operational performance
  • Work closely with the leadership team on strategic planning and future growth initiatives

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with significant experience within UK accountancy practice
  • Proven track record of leadership within an audit environment
  • Experience operating at Director, Senior Manager, or equivalent level
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards
  • Extensive experience managing complex audit portfolios and senior client relationships
  • Demonstrable business development and commercial experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially minded with a passion for delivering exceptional client service
  • Ambitious, strategic, and motivated by the opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing firm
