Audit Director - Pathway to Responsible Individual (RI)
Location: Birmingham City Centre

Are you an ambitious Audit Director looking for a genuine pathway to Responsible Individual (RI) status within a growing and entrepreneurial firm?
Our client is a highly regarded regional accountancy practice with ambitious growth plans and a strong presence across the Midlands. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Audit Director to play a key leadership role within the audit practice while helping drive the firm's next phase of growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join a firm where your contribution will directly influence the future direction of the business. For the right individual, support and progression towards RI status will be available.
The Role
As Audit Director, you will lead a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and larger corporate clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit and advisory services. Alongside your technical and leadership responsibilities, you will be expected to play a significant role in developing new business opportunities and strengthening the firm's market presence.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a substantial audit portfolio.
- Managing and mentoring audit managers and wider team members.
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Identifying advisory opportunities and cross-selling services across the firm.
- Actively participating in networking, business development and marketing initiatives.
- Winning new clients and generating fee growth through your professional network and market profile.
- Supporting strategic planning and contributing to the firm's growth objectives.
- Working closely with Partners on succession planning and future leadership initiatives.
- Progressing towards Responsible Individual (RI) status, where required.
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded audit professional who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for business development.
You will ideally possess:
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Significant experience operating at Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK audit and accounting standards.
- A proven track record of managing substantial client relationships.
- Experience identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ambition and capability to progress towards RI status.
