Audit Director
Manchester - Hybrid Working, £100,000-£120,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Looking for an Audit Director opportunity where you'll have genuine influence, the autonomy to shape client relationships and the backing of an established national firm?
A leading accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Director to join its growing large corporate audit team in Manchester. This is a key leadership appointment offering the chance to work alongside an ambitious Partner group, lead a high-quality portfolio and play a central role in the firm's continued growth.
You'll work with a diverse client base including listed businesses, international groups and large privately owned organisations, combining technical excellence with commercial leadership and business development.
The opportunity
As Audit Director, you'll take ownership of a substantial audit portfolio while helping to shape the future direction of the team. You'll be trusted to make decisions, build lasting client relationships and support the development of the next generation of audit leaders.

What you'll be doing
- Leading a portfolio of complex audit engagements across listed, international and large corporate clients
- Signing audit reports as a Responsible Individual and maintaining the highest standards of audit quality
- Acting as the senior adviser for clients, building trusted long-term relationships
- Presenting audit findings and recommendations to boards, audit committees and senior stakeholders
- Working closely with Partners to identify opportunities for growth and win new business
- Supporting the strategic development of the audit practice across Manchester
- Coaching, mentoring and developing senior managers and future leaders
- Driving continuous improvement across audit methodology, quality and client service
What we're looking for
- ACA, ACCA or CA qualified
- Current or future Responsible Individual (RI) status desirable
- Extensive experience leading external audits within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and IFRS
- Experience managing large corporate, listed and international audit clients
- A proven track record of developing client relationships and generating new business
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high-performing teams
