About the Role
The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist role is integral to BDO’s Audit Stream, ensuring high-performing professionals thrive through continuous learning. This role partners with the L&D team to:
- Identify training needs within the stream
- Design and deliver innovative, industry-relevant learning solutions
- Apply critical thinking, commercial awareness, and technological agility to foster personal and professional growth.
The position is flexible, allowable for travel to London and regional offices as required.
Key Responsibilities
As the L&D Specialist, your work will drive operational excellence and impactful learning initiatives, including:
- Developing innovative training content aligned with learner needs and measurable business outcomes
- Supporting the Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance team in evaluating and refining programme design via data-driven insights
- Collaborating with content SMEs and subject matter experts (SMEs) to inform programme development
- Facilitating learning programmes via onsite project management or direct facilitation
- Developing & maintaining relationships with content experts, implementation teams, and innovation partners
- Supporting content design and evaluation alongside the Learning Development and Monitoring teams
- Leveraging your audit experience to develop leading technical and non-technical learning solutions
- Partnering with innovation and technology teams to integrate cutting-edge tools into learning initiatives

Essential Requirements
To thrive in this role, you must: ✨ Previous Audit Assistant Manager experience (or equivalent) with a passion for Learning & Development ✨ Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) ✨ Detailed knowledge of audit methodology with hands-on current/near-current application ✨ Insight into our quality improvement agenda ✨ Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills for diverse stakeholders ✨ Strong analytical, problem-solving and teaching/coaching abilities ✨ Ability to operate independently and collaboratively
- Optional but beneficial: Experience in programme design/evaluation, or content development for complex initiatives
