Audit Manage/Assistant Manager
Senior Audit Manager (or Assistant Manager)
The firm is looking to recruit an Audit Manager or Assistant Manager to oversee client portfolios, driven by ongoing growth.
About the Firm
A well-established CBE (Chartered Accountants firm) based in Hertfordshire with around 40 staff. The practice provides services to a diverse client base, including:
- Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Owner-managed businesses
- Corporate groups (from start-ups to £100m+ annual turnovers)
Audit forms the core of the firm’s service offering—this role will primarily focus on audit work.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing client portfolios as the primary point of contact.
- Leading statutory and voluntary audits from start to finish, including:
- Planning and execution
- Budgeting and timeline management
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff.
- Developing audit plans, risk assessments and financial budgets.
- Ensuring compliant audit files aligned with:
- ISAs (UK) – International Standards on Auditing
- FRS 102 – UK Accounting Standards
- Delivering assignments within agreed deadlines and budgets.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA or ACCA qualification with manager-level or senior experience.
- Strong UK practice audit experience with evidence of:
- Leading end-to-end audit engagements.
- Supervising junior staff (mentoring/performance reviews).
- Technical expertise in FRS 102 and ISAs (UK).
