RSM is expanding its audit offering in the banking, building society, and lending sectors, focusing on both regulated and unregulated lenders. As an Audit Manager in our banking and lending team, you will lead the delivery of audits for lending clients with a strong emphasis on IFRS9, whilst managing a diverse portfolio.
This leadership position includes:
- Developing and mentoring team members
- Supporting technical and training teams to build specialist expertise
- Contributing to strategic growth initiatives
- Enhancing audit methodology

You’ll Make an Impact By
- Managing a portfolio of statutory audits in the lending sector, ensuring compliance with firm procedures and quality standards
- Overseeing and briefing staff on assignments, providing training, liaising with senior client staff, and resolving key audit matters in consultation with stakeholders
- Attending and presenting at client audit committees and board meetings, and supporting business development (such as scoping and pitching)
- Leading recruitment, line management, sector-specific training, and development of junior team members, while participating in industry organizations
- Collaborating with national technical and training teams to enhance audit methodology and training on IFRS9 as well as other technical areas impacting lenders

What We Are Looking For

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
- ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent qualification
- Experienced Audit Manager with strong IFRS 9 expertise, particularly in accounting and auditing expected credit losses (ECL)
- Practical experience in auditing ECL models for retail/consumer lending products such as mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, and consumer finance
- Background in banking, commercial, or retail finance sectors, with the ability to develop or enhance IFRS 9 audit methodologies
- Proven leadership and project management skills, with experience leading teams and delivering complex assignments
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
