About the Company
Based in Kingston Upon Hull, my client is a well-established and highly regarded firm of chartered accountants with a strong reputation for delivering audit, accounts, taxation and business advisory services to a diverse client base. Following continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint an Audit Manager to strengthen its leadership team and support the next phase of development.
About the Role
As Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the senior management team, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of audit clients across multiple sectors. You will lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, manage and develop junior team members, and work closely with the Partners to ensure a consistently high standard of client service and technical delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and deliver statutory audit assignments for a broad portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time and within budget.
- Act as the main point of contact for audit clients, building strong relationships and providing a responsive, high-quality service.
- Plan, review and oversee assignments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and professional standards.
- Lead, coach and develop junior team members, providing support, delegation and mentoring to aid progression.
- Work closely with the Partners on client service delivery, workflow planning and wider team performance.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.
Candidate Profile
You will be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with a strong audit background developed within an accountancy practice environment. This role would suit an experienced Audit Manager or a high-performing Assistant Manager / Audit Senior ready to step into a broader leadership position. Key Attributes
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience.
- Strong audit and accounts experience gained within a professional practice environment.
- Proven ability to supervise, review and develop junior team members.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused, relationship-led approach.
