PKF Smith Cooper

PKF Smith Cooper is one of the Midlands’ leading firms of independently owned accountants and business advisors. We pride ourselves on delivering more than just technical expertise; we build trusted, long-term relationships that make a real impact. Behind that success is a team of talented, forward-thinking individuals, each playing a key role in shaping the future of the businesses and people we support.

We have ambitious plans for the future, including a goal to double in size over the next five years. As part of this, Birmingham remains a key growth location, and we are continuing to invest in strengthening our audit leadership capability in the region.

This is a key senior hire for the firm, offering the opportunity to play a central role in shaping and growing our audit presence in Birmingham, supported by a strong brand, client base and wider network.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Partner to play a leading role within our Birmingham audit team. This is a senior position suited to an experienced Director ready to step up, or an existing Partner looking for a new opportunity.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading audit engagements
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and quality
  • Supporting the continued growth of the audit function locally

Working closely with Partners and the wider leadership team, you will contribute to strategic direction, client development, and team progression.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
