Audit Quality Manager x 2 – up to £80k base plus bonus
Global Mid-Tier Practice
Location: London – Flexible Hybrid Model
Sponsorship is offered but you must have UK Top 6 External Audit experience, and at least 1 years UK experience in a Technical Audit/Audit Quality function.
About the Role
- Rapidly growing and wide-ranging team with a rapid path 5 year path to Partner and UK Head without requiring RI Status like mainstream audit.
- No busy season, great hours, lots of scope to work from home, and choice of Advisory engagements across areas like ESG, Impact of AI in Assurance, Financial Reporting Advisory, Ethics for you to lead.
Responsibilities
- My client is in the second wave of growing a high-profile Audit Quality and Financial Reporting team, as it looks to be standard bearers in championing FRC AQD and ICAEW QAD standards across the firm. This is at a time the firm’s assurance offering is going through exponential growth winning the most complex clients in its history, including multinational and UK listed corporates and other PIEs.
- They are looking for an experienced (3rd year) Manager or Manager who is Big 6 trained in Corporate (Non-Financial Services) External Audit, who has worked for at least a year in a UK Audit Quality/Technical Audit function in your career, whether that be on secondment or on a permanent basis.
- You will need to demonstrate the ability to challenge, influence, and ultimately lead firm wide directives on audit methodology with Audit teams at all levels. You will be their strategic CFO style advisor as they work with their audit clients to navigate key areas like ESG, Impact of AI in Assurance, Financial Reporting Advisory, Ethics, and Digital Data Analytics.
- Unlike the repetitive nature mainstream Audit roles, every engagement and client will be different, and you will be looking to add value to the future rather than assurance of the past.
- You will be mentored by ex-Big 4 Audit Quality and Advisory leaders in a growing team to do this, and as the team is at an early stage, you will have the chance to build teams rapidly, with rapid paths to be a Senior Manager in 12 months, and a Partner in 3-5 years, and being a UK Head of a key advisory arm in this team. The impact of your success will be recognised at the highest levels of the firm as they are driving this department, and lead to the opportunity of UK and Global Board roles at this global firm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
