Role Description
This is a full-time, Audit Semi Senior or Senior role based in Leicester. The role involves planning and performing statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including preparing audit documentation, testing controls, and reviewing financial statements in line with auditing standards. You will liaise directly with clients, resolve queries, and provide clear explanations of audit findings, while supporting juniors through on-the-job coaching and reviewing their work. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with the wider audit and accounts teams, ensuring assignments are delivered to agreed deadlines and quality standards, and identifying areas for process improvement or value-added advisory opportunities. The role also includes staying up to date with relevant accounting and auditing regulations and contributing to the continuous development of audit methodologies within the firm.

Qualifications

- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), or for Semi Senior level, working towards qualification, with experience in external audit within a practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards, with the ability to apply these practically to a range of client sectors and sizes.
- Proficiency in audit and accounting software, Excel, and general MS Office tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail, sound judgement, and the capacity to interpret complex financial information.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build client relationships, explain technical issues clearly, and collaborate within a team.
- Well-developed organisational and time-management skills, able to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work accurately under pressure.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members, including reviewing work and providing constructive feedback, is advantageous.
