Audit Senior
Audit Senior Associate – Bournemouth
The Bournemouth office is seeking an experienced, professional, and enthusiastic Audit Senior Associate to join our audit and accounts team. Applicants must be ACA or ACCA qualified/finalist and demonstrate a commercially minded and proactive approach to client work.
The Role
This is a varied and challenging position with exposure to a diverse range of clients, often working under tight deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
- Full audit planning: Identifying risks, setting materiality thresholds, and designing appropriate audit tests
- Leading team fieldwork: Supervising junior staff, ensuring team development, and delivering a positive client experience
- Executing detailed audit work: Taking accountable ownership for judgments and conclusions, ensuring professional scepticism and proper documentation
- Client relations: Building rapport to deliver effective audits and accounts preparation
- File closure: Compiling findings and summarising key audit matters for partner review
- Communication: Maintaining regular contact with managers and team members throughout assignments
- Financial management: Overseeing budgets and keeping managers informed
- Collaboration: Liaising with corporate tax, accounts, and other Saffery teams to ensure seamless client service
- Supervisory duties: Reviewing and mentoring junior team members’ work
- Flexible working: Travelling to client sites, office presence, or remote work as required

The Team
The Bournemouth Audit Team consists of approximately 35 professionals, ranging from trainees to Partners. Collaborating extensively with full network support, they deliver audits, statutory accounts, and ad-hoc client queries.

The Office
The Bournemouth office provides:
- Accounting, audit, assurance, business advisory, tax and VAT services
- Clients spanning AIM-listed businesses, large corporates, landed estates, with specialisations in property, private wealth, professional practices, and owner-managed firms
- National/international client collaboration, ensuring seamless service wherever business is conducted.
Our Requirements
Essential:
- ACA or ACCA qualification (finalists welcome)
- Audit experience, including planning, problem-solving, and file completion
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP; familiarity with IFRS an advantage
- Proven track record in accounts preparation
- Robust communication skills and commercial awareness
- Proficiency in Excel, Word; knowledge of CCH Accounts and Audit Automation helpful
- Exceptional time-management and ability to multitask
- Experience managing teams and supervising junior colleagues
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments
- Proactive, collaborative personality
