Audit Senior Role – Guildford
About the Role
The Audit Senior position presents a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional in accounting and finance, within the professional services sector. This permanent role based in Guildford involves overseeing audit assignments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting business growth.
About the Company
Our client is a well-established accountancy firm in Surrey, currently operating at full capacity. Following the opening of a second office in Guildford, the firm aims to expand further, with the ambition to become Surrey’s largest independent accountancy practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and finalise audit assignments in line with applicable accounting and auditing standards
- Prepare financial statements and audit reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, fostering proficiency and development
- Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients -Ensure all audit work is completed on time and within budget
- Oversee corporate tax returns
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, FRS)
- Collaborate with the team to streamline processes and deliver exceptional service

Requirements & Profile
Essential Criteria
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Experience in audit, ideally within a large independent or mid-tier accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet ambitious deadlines
- Strong communication skills for client and internal liaison
- Proactive mindset with a focus on improving processes
