Audit Senior

Salary: £42,000 - £48,000 per annum

Location: High Wycombe

A growing accountancy practice is seeking an Audit Senior to join its team in High Wycombe. Working with a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, this role offers the chance to take responsibility for audit delivery, build strong client relationships, and play an important part in supporting junior team members.

As an Audit Senior, you will work closely with managers and partners, managing key elements of audit engagements while continuing to strengthen your commercial and technical skills. The role provides exposure to a broad range of clients and the opportunity to develop within a forward-thinking accountancy environment.

The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative team based in High Wycombe, where they will have the opportunity to work on challenging assignments while continuing to progress professionally.

What you'll be doing:

  • Taking ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Carrying out detailed audit fieldwork, including substantive testing and analytical procedures
  • Preparing statutory financial statements using client information and relevant accounting standards
  • Identifying risks, technical issues, and areas requiring further review by senior stakeholders
  • Ensuring audit files are completed accurately with clear supporting documentation
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact during assignments
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the audit team
  • Working alongside managers and partners to deliver high-quality audit services

What we're looking for:

  • ACA, ACCA, CA qualified or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working within an audit-focused role
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience managing audit assignments and working with a range of clients
  • Confidence communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to support and guide junior colleagues
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail
