Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available)
Department: Audit & Assurance
Reporting to: Audit Manager / Audit Director
The Role
A well-established accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join its growing audit function. This is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for leading audits from planning through to completion, working closely with managers and supporting junior team members on-site and in the office. You'll be joining a collaborative team with strong exposure to a varied client base and clear opportunities for development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Prepare and review audit fieldwork and financial statements
- Supervise and support junior team members on-site and remotely
- Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
- Ensure audits are delivered within budget and timescales
- Identify key risk areas and apply appropriate audit testing
- Support managers with technical issues and audit file reviews
- Contribute to the completion of statutory accounts and audit files

About You
- ACA or ACCA part-qualified or newly qualified
- Strong background in UK practice audit work
- Experience leading audit sections or smaller audits
- Confident supervising and reviewing junior staff
- Strong understanding of audit methodology and financial reporting standards
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to manage deadlines and work across multiple assignments
