Audit Senior
Leeds | Accountancy Practice | £38,000 - £43,000 + Benefits
A growing and highly regarded independent accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Senior to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious audit professional who enjoys client interaction, taking ownership of assignments, and working in a supportive environment where progression is genuinely encouraged.
Based in Leeds, this role offers the chance to work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and established organisations, delivering high-quality audit services while developing strong relationships with clients and colleagues. The firm combines the technical expertise of a larger practice with the personal approach and flexibility of an independent business.
As an Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with managers and partners while managing fieldwork teams and acting as a key point of contact for clients.

- Leading audit assignments at client premises, managing the fieldwork process and ensuring deadlines are achieved
- Planning, executing, and completing audits for a broad range of SME and owner-managed businesses
- Preparing and reviewing audit files, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
- Drafting financial statements and supporting completion processes
- Building strong working relationships with clients, including senior stakeholders and business owners
- Coaching and supporting junior members of the audit team during assignments
- Identifying areas for improvement and providing practical recommendations to clients
- Working closely with managers and partners to deliver a high-quality client experience
What we're looking for:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or actively progressing towards qualification
- Minimum of two years' external audit experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Experience leading audit assignments and managing on-site fieldwork
- Strong technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting requirements
- Good general accounts experience alongside audit capability
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Strong Excel skills, with experience using audit and accounting software beneficial
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to client site visits
