Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why join this business

This well-established and growing accountancy practice has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work to a specialist client base.

What sets the business apart is the breadth of exposure available to its team. Rather than operating in a narrow audit-only environment, you'll gain hands-on experience across audit, accounts preparation, and client advisory work, helping you develop into a more commercially rounded accountant.

The firm's continued growth creates genuine opportunities for ambitious auditors to progress quickly, take on greater responsibility, and play a meaningful role in shaping how work is delivered.

You'll work closely with Partners, have direct client exposure from day one, and be trusted to take ownership of engagements far earlier than would typically be possible within a larger firm.

The Role

As a Senior Auditor, you'll take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion while developing trusted client relationships and supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion
  • Managing audit delivery and ensuring work is completed to a high technical standard
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout engagements, building trusted relationships and communicating confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supervising, reviewing, and mentoring junior staff
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Contributing to process improvements and best practice across the team

What You'll Bring

  • 2-5 years' audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships and interact directly with clients
  • Ability to explain technical matters clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • ACA/ACCA qualified, finalist, or part-qualified with a clear commitment to completing qualification
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and ISAs (UK)
  • IFRS exposure would be advantageous
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts would be beneficial
  • Exposure to both audit and accounts preparation is desirable but not essential

Who This Role Suits

This opportunity is ideal for an Audit Senior looking for greater responsibility, broader exposure, and a more commercially focused role than many traditional firms can offer.

Success in this role requires more than strong technical audit skills. You'll be someone who enjoys working directly with clients, building trusted relationships, and communicating confidently with colleagues and stakeholders.

You'll thrive in a close-knit team where ideas are welcomed, and progression is based on contribution rather than hierarchy.

If you're looking for a role that offers genuine responsibility, broad technical exposure, and a clear route to progression, we'd love to hear from you.
