Department: Advice, Audit & Accounts Location: Godalming, Surrey Compensation: £50,000 - £56,500 / year
Description
As part of the team in Godalming, you will be responsible for leading on audits of small to medium clients, working closely with managers and juniors to deliver audit work on time and within budget. Your portfolio will be a mix of client industries, offering you variety and longer term progression and career opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Training of audit semi seniors & Juniors Ability to perform risk assessments and identify key audit areas Proficiency in using advanced audit techniques such as substantive testing and analytical procedures Experience in drafting & reviewing financial statements inclusive of audit reports and communicating findings to audit supervisor / manager. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements Prompt completion of timesheets by end of the week Complete staff appraisal for junior at end of the audit (within 1 week of receiving from Semi senior / junior) Prepare staff appraisal at end of the audit (within 2 weeks of booking finishing) Ensure all members of the audit team are entering timesheets on a regular basis + making sure any client related expenses have been claimed in good time. Audit Testing Complete audit planning Reviewing work from junior team members and providing constructive review points Proficient in designing audit testing on all sections of the file Consideration of audit efficiency and testing Delivery of audit file in such condition that Supervisor/manager have minimal review points and there are no outstanding points. Communicating with the tax department on provisions and comps/returns Completion of the L section Drafting comprehensive audit highlights report summarising the audit, key points for manager partner Audit completion - complete Review forecasts including sensitivity analysis Challenging assumptions Comparing actual to previous forecasts Risk Reassessing from planning to completion Complete schedules of adjusted & unadjusted

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualified to ACA/ACCA or internationally recognised chartered accounting qualification Experience leading audits Technically competent High level of personal motivation Excellent communicator- able to get on with clients and your team Adaptable Initiative Ability to organise and good motivator and encourager of team Personable and confident – clients should feel confident of their ability to relate to them Ability to multi task and prioritise work – time management Ability to meet deadlines
