Band 6 Autism Assessment Practitioner – Children’s Autism Assessment Service (Part-Time)
About the Role
Sirona Care & Health is seeking a compassionate Band 6 Autism Assessment Practitioner to join our Children’s Autism Assessment Service in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). This 22.5-hour part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a ** clínical team**, delivering specialist diagnostic assessments for children and young people aged 2.5 to 18 with less complex presentations.
You will be tasked with gathered and analysing information, conducting direct observations, and completing assessments primarily in school settings. Granting feedback to schools, families, and young people—both verbally and via written reports—will also be a key part of your role.
This position allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families while working within a collaborative clinical model.
Key Responsibilities
On this role, you will be expected to:
- Conduct specialist diagnostic autism assessments for children and young people aged 2.5 to 18 on the assessment waiting list.
- Primarily take place in school settings, though some clinical appointments may occur in clinics or health hubs.
- Gather, analyse, and synthesise relevant information and observations from various sources.
- Provide clear, timely, and appropriate feedback to schools, families, and young people, both in-person and through written reports.
- Identify when further assessments might be needed to provide a comprehensive diagnostic outcome.
- Engage in supervision, interagency collaboration, and team reporting, working alongside professionals from education, social services, and other stipulated groups.
