Autism Assessor (Children & Young People)

Location: Hybrid – In-person with some remote working – clinic location to be agreed
Hours: Full-time, flexible across weekdays - do talk to us about your availability
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £52,000 - £58,000 (pro rata), depending on experience

About Held Health

Held Health provides specialist neurodevelopmental assessments and emotional wellbeing support for children, young people and their families. Our experienced, multidisciplinary teams work across the UK to deliver high-quality, timely care that recognises the whole child, not just a diagnosis.

We’re building something different — a team culture where clinicians are valued, heard and supported to thrive.

We are now looking for experienced Autism Assessors to join our growing neurodevelopmental team, contributing to the delivery of gold-standard autism assessments for children and young people.

The Role

As an Autism Assessor, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver autism assessments in line with NICE guidance and national best practice. Most assessments will be conducted in-person in agreed clinic spaces in the Manchester area, with flexibility for some remote work depending on the patient needs.

You will:

  • Conduct structured developmental interviews with parents/carers (e.g. ADI-R, ACE).
  • Deliver play-based and observational assessments with children and young people (e.g. ADOS-2).
  • Contribute to diagnostic decision-making through multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions.
  • Liaise with schools and other professionals to gather collateral information.
  • Write clear, child-centred clinical reports that reflect the strengths, needs, and any diagnosis.
  • Provide feedback to families sensitively and clearly.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and reflective practice.
  • Help shape and improve our autism assessment pathway as we grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
