About The Role And School
We are seeking an Autism Specialist Teacher to join a large and thriving special school in Waltham Forest from September. This Autism Specialist Teacher role offers flexibility regarding year groups and pathways, making it suitable for teachers from either mainstream or specialist backgrounds who are passionate about inclusive education.
The school supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, communication needs and associated learning difficulties through highly personalised learning pathways. Staff benefit from strong leadership, excellent CPD opportunities and a collaborative approach that places pupil wellbeing, communication and independence at the centre of school life. The school has developed a curriculum focused on enjoyment, achievement and wellbeing while preparing pupils for their next stage of education and adulthood.

Job Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching as an Autism Specialist Teacher
Support pupils with Autism and communication needs
Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP outcomes
Promote independence, engagement and wellbeing
Work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams
Monitor progress and contribute to annual reviews
Qualifications/Experience
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience supporting pupils with Autism desirable Strong understanding of SEN practice Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service Right to work in the UK
