Automation and Instrumentation Technician
Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Electronic/Automation)

We are seeking a professional to carry out critical maintenance work on equipment and facilities, specialising in:
- Assembly, calibration, and repair of electronic systems
- Industrial automation
- Measurement and control equipment
- Electrical, electronic, and automation equipment on production lines
Maintaining optimal operational *efficiency, sustainability, and reliability in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance of critical systems:
- PLCs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and load cells
- Robotic equipment, pneumatics, sensors, and barcode reading systems

Operational oversight & compliance:
- Oversee control room alarms to guarantee system reliability
- Execute safety checks and validation of equipment functionality

Regulatory adherence & processes:
- Full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations
- Strict adherence to company safety protocols
- Use of formal defect reporting systems (including accident/near-miss incident reporting)
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electromechanical Engineering
- OR equivalent qualifications in electrical/electronic automation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and/or City & Guilds 2365 certification
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
- BTEC Level 3/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (preferred but not mandatory)
- Extensive experience in fault-finding for PLC-controlled systems (Siemens or similar)
- Familiarity with electrical instrumentation, automation controllers, and control systems
