Automation and Instrumentation Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Electronic/Automation)

The CIMPOR Group is a leader in its industries, renowned for its exceptional safety, quality, and innovation standards. This opportunity exists across the country to drive adaptation, development, and growth within our team to address expanding business challenges.

We are seeking a professional to carry out critical maintenance work on equipment and facilities, specialising in:

  • Assembly, calibration, and repair of electronic systems
  • Industrial automation
  • Measurement and control equipment
  • Electrical, electronic, and automation equipment on production lines

Maintaining optimal operational *efficiency, sustainability, and reliability in production environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of critical systems:
    • PLCs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and load cells
    • Robotic equipment, pneumatics, sensors, and barcode reading systems

  • Operational oversight & compliance:

    • Oversee control room alarms to guarantee system reliability
    • Execute safety checks and validation of equipment functionality
  • Regulatory adherence & processes:

    • Full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations
    • Strict adherence to company safety protocols
    • Use of formal defect reporting systems (including accident/near-miss incident reporting)

Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electromechanical Engineering
    • OR equivalent qualifications in electrical/electronic automation
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and/or City & Guilds 2365 certification
  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
  • BTEC Level 3/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Extensive experience in fault-finding for PLC-controlled systems (Siemens or similar)
  • Familiarity with electrical instrumentation, automation controllers, and control systems
