Automation Engineer
Location: Cheshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 (DOE) + car allowance

I am currently supporting an Industrial Automation organisation help recruit an Automation Engineer.
This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects from concept through to commissioning, collaborating with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop cutting edge control systems and automation solutions.
The Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering automation projects throughout their full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design through to testing, commissioning, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Analysing customer requirements and developing Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
- Designing and programming PLC control systems and HMI/SCADA visualisation solutions
- Integrating PLC systems with higher-level manufacturing and business systems
- Conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and customer demonstrations
- Supporting Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and start-up activities
- Producing technical documentation, operating procedures, and training materials
- Providing post-project support and troubleshooting assistance
- Working closely with project teams and customers to ensure successful project delivery

Your Experience:
- A Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related discipline
- Previous experience in an automation engineering position (SIEMENS, Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC, PCS 7)
- Strong PLC programming and HMI development skills
- Beneficial: Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 GBP Per annum
