Automation Engineer

6-Week Contract: Automation Engineer – Healthcare Automation Pipeline

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

An AI strategy and automation consultancy building AI-native workflows for some of the UK’s leading organisations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The automation engineer will own the build and delivery of a 5-stage automation pipeline for a private healthcare client, integrated directly into their clinical and administrative stack.

This is a 6-week contract engagement—covering discovery, build, UAT, go-live, and 30-day hypercare. The scope is fully defined, the client relationship is live, and the tech stack is locked. You will be embedded with the ivee delivery team and receive full ownership of the technical build from day one.

The project eliminates 54 hours of manual administrative work per week from a consultant support team. Currently, every consultant appointment generates a patient letter—but it goes through 10 manual steps before reaching the patient. This role involves replacing 9 of those steps with a single automated pipeline, triggered by consultant approval, integrating Meddbase, O365, and Egress.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a webhook-triggered PDF generation pipeline that fires upon Meddbase letter approval and produces a formatted output via a templating engine
  • Implement a consent resolver to read structured fields from Meddbase and route dispatch downstream appropriately
  • Develop a CC contact lookup system that resolves recipient addresses from Meddbase, with an AI fallback for missing records
  • Build dispatch routing across two encrypted paths:
    • Meddbase secure link (no CCs present)
    • Egress PDF send (CCs present), plus print handling
  • Create status writeback to Meddbase, replacing a parallel Excel log with a live dashboard
  • Design and implement an exception queue, real-time failure alerting, and a weekly digest for the ~10% of volume that cannot be auto-resolved
  • Lead UAT with the support team in Week 5 and manage go-live in Week 6
