Lab Automation Engineer
North West England | Predominantly onsite
We're partnering with an innovative life sciences company as they transition a cutting-edge laboratory platform from R&D into clinical and commercial deployment.
This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in shaping the future of the company's automation capability.
The role sits at the intersection of science and engineering, focused on transforming complex laboratory workflows into robust, scalable and compliant automated platforms suitable for real-world deployment.

- Designing and implementing laboratory automation workflows
- Developing and optimising liquid handling protocols
- Integrating automation hardware with laboratory systems and data pipelines
- Supporting validation activities within regulated environments
- Contributing to technology transfer into operational and customer environments
- Working closely with scientific, product and quality teams
We're particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Laboratory automation or liquid handling
- Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman or similar platforms
- Diagnostics, genomics, proteomics or broader life sciences environments
- Python, SQL or automation scripting
- Validation within regulated environments
- Translating manual scientific workflows into automated solutions

- LC-MS workflows
- Customer-facing implementation experience
- Clinical deployment experience
- Exposure to ISO13485, ISO15189, IVDR or FDA-regulated environments
