About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Automation Engineer to join our expanding team at Brunel. This role involves performing maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown response, repairs, and remedial works on a variety of automated systems, including gates, barriers, doors, and shutters. The successful candidate will work across a nationwide customer base, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This position is ideal for an engineer who is self-driven, well-organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships, providing excellent service, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach to meet the diverse needs of our clients effectively.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications and experience in automation systems, electrical, and mechanical fault-finding. A full UK driving license is essential, along with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with an ambition to progress within the company. Relevant certifications and training in automation, safety standards, and industry best practices are highly desirable and will support the candidate’s ability to excel in this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on automated systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Attend breakdowns promptly, diagnose faults accurately, and implement effective repairs to minimize system downtime.
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis on gates, barriers, doors, and shutters, ensuring all repairs adhere to safety standards.
- Ensure all systems operate safely and remain compliant with current industry regulations and standards.
- Accurately complete service records, reports, and documentation related to maintenance and repairs for compliance and quality assurance.
- Maintain and strengthen customer relationships by providing professional and timely service, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated with the latest industry developments, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards to enhance service quality.
