Automation Maintenance Technician
We are now recruiting for Automation Maintenance Technician at our Jubilee Mail Centre, Hounslow, TW4 5XX site. In this role your potential earning will be over £59,000 per annum.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £54,791 per annum
- Night shift allowance
- 22.5 days annual leave with bank holidays
- Defined contribution pension scheme
- Weekend supplement: £54.73 per attendance on Saturday, £109.47 per attendance on Sunday
Role Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to follow the Jubilee Mail Centre shift rotation system, with some voluntary flexibility to meet operational needs. Shift attendance equates to 40.00 hours per week.
Shift Patterns:
- Early: 06:30 - 14:55
- Late: 14:00 - 22:30
- Night: 21:00 - 07:35

Shifts are over a 5-week pattern and include weekend working.
About the Role
Royal Mail is undergoing a significant technological change, transitioning to a predominantly mechanised parcel sortation process. This role involves:
- Ensuring availability and performance of automation assets through effective maintenance procedures
- Performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
- Continuous improvement activities
- Supporting the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches
- Logging faults and data entry
- Identifying root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritizing corrective actions
- Monitoring equipment performance and improving automation outputs in collaboration with operational stakeholders
- Identifying and working on Continuous Improvement projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

About You
As an experienced multi-skilled engineer, you should have:
- Qualifications in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent)
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- Experience maintaining automation equipment
- Flexible approach and effective communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
