Automation Team Leader
Location: Wiltshire
Salary: £44k, plus pension & benefits
Working Hours: 4 on 4 off (Perm Nights 6 till 6)

I am currently recruiting for an Automation Team Leader to support the launch of a major new automated production line within a leading food manufacturing business.
This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in commissioning state-of-the-art automation technology while leading a team in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. The Opportunity
As an Automation Team Leader, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day performance of a highly automated production line, ensuring maximum efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
Working closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams, you'll help drive performance from day one while supporting the successful commissioning and optimisation of new automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation and optimisation of a highly automated production line
- Troubleshoot automation and robotic systems to maximise uptime and efficiency
- Coach, develop, and support Automation Technicians
- Carry out minor planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, and performance
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams
- Support commissioning, equipment validation, and supplier engagement
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience working within a highly automated FMCG manufacturing environment
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Flexibility to support training and commissioning activities
- Experience with robotics, automated manufacturing systems, commissioning, or advanced production technology would be highly advantageous.
