Automation Test Analyst
Purpose
To provide 7IM Agile Squad(s) with an automation-first approach to delivering incremental change. Support day-to-day operations and achieve 7IM Test Chapter objectives by offering informed test guidance, support, and delivery across business, development, and support functions across the entire software solution lifecycle. Adopting a ‘shift-left’ approach and helping to drive a Quality Engineering culture as 7IM progresses towards its automation agenda.
Responsibilities
- Deliver automated testing solutions for squad work, contributing to increased velocity and enhanced product quality in live systems. Ability to self-manage within the squad.
- Actively contribute within established automation frameworks.
- Analyze requirements (functional and non-functional) to propose suitable testing approaches, including:
- Types of testing
- Implementation strategies
- Design, generate, and manipulate data for test preparation and execution.
- Clearly communicate testing impact risks to stakeholders to ensure understanding and documented acknowledgment.
- Proactively suggest improvements to test principles, techniques, and tools among the 7IM Test Chapter team.
- Identify and drive efficiency improvements while ensuring testing consistency and value delivery in a self-directed manner.
- Champion a BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) and/or TDD (Test-Driven Development) culture within the development lifecycle.
- T-shape support within the squad to achieve successful outcomes (e.g., manual testing, or analysis).
- Perform manual testing, if required, aligning with internal best practices and guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all applicable compliance standards and best practices.
- Outperform following 7IM’s VPV (Value, Priorities, and Values) principles.

About You
General Skills
- Strong ability to interact and influence Agile Squads and stakeholder engagement.
- BDD expertise to advocate industry-aligned best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to influence testing approaches effectively.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Skilled verbal and written communication to manage defects and present complex technical details to business stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Software development lifecycle
- ISTQB industry best practices
- Asset Management industry
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud and related tech stack.
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with Microsoft development and testing tools (e.g., TFS/Azure DevOps (ADO)).

Automation Skills & Tools
- Playwright (.NET)
- SpecFlow/Reqnroll or another BDD framework
- Selenium (desirable)
- Proficient in object-oriented programming, ideally in C#
- FitNesse (desirable)
- Familiarity with API test tools such as Postman/ReadyAPI
- Knowledge of Playwright MCP (Microsoft Certified: Playwright Developer) or AI tools in testing (desirable)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (desirable)
Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Software development lifecycle
- ISTQB best practices for software testing
- Asset Management industry
Qualifications
- ISEB / ISTQB Foundation
- Additional ISEB / ISTQB certifications are advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in software testing or related roles.
