About the Role
As part of the V and V Test Automation Engineering team, the Automation Test Engineer will collaborate with a highly motivated, dynamic team of engineers to automate existing and new power electronics application requirements for power systems, particularly for HVDC converters and the upcoming "HVDC Grid".
The role involves technically challenging script development, cross-disciplinary contributions, team collaboration, effective communication with software and validation departments, and an innovative problem-solving approach.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop test automation frameworks.
- Define and execute test automation planning.
- Develop test scripts in compliance with company-defined standards.
- Support the creation and enhancement of in-house tools.
- Execute automated tests across various environments, including PSCAD and MATLAB.
- Clearly communicate test failures and results to respective engineering teams.
- Ensure thorough execution of tests and produce clear reporting of results.
- Continuously seek opportunities to automate testing using the organization’s automated testing platform.
- Drive continual improvement in the team’s effectiveness and efficiency through the introduction of new tools, methods, and process improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
- An Engineering degree (or equivalent) with relevant subjects in power systems or power electronics, or proven equivalent knowledge/experience in embedded system testing.
- Moderate experience in automation testing across any industry.
- Experience working with test frameworks for embedded systems testing.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in the English language.
- Willingness to travel globally to support projects and adapt to flexible working hours.
