Automation Test Lead

Contract | Hybrid | Inside IR35

We're supporting a leading consultancy delivering a major cloud and identity transformation programme for a large enterprise client. They are looking for an experienced Automation Test Lead to take ownership of the automation testing strategy across a complex Identity & Access Management (IAM) platform.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll define automation frameworks, shape testing strategy, mentor engineers and ensure the delivery of high-quality cloud-native identity solutions.

Working closely with Cloud Security, DevOps and Engineering teams, you'll be responsible for testing secure identity lifecycle workflows, APIs, event-driven architectures and cloud services using an automation-first approach.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and lead the overall automation testing strategy
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks
  • Lead testing across IAM platforms, identity lifecycle and orchestration workflows
  • Test APIs, data ingestion processes and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka etc.)
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Drive quality through shift-left testing practices
  • Lead defect management, test planning and reporting
  • Mentor Automation Test Engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Work closely with developers, architects and security teams throughout delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
