Automotive Electrician – Glasgow Caledonia Depot
Position: Automotive Electrician
Location: Scotland, UK – Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH
Contracted Hours: 38 per week (full-time, permanent) + overtime available
Shifts: Dayshift & Nightshift – flexible options discussed at screening
Pay Rate:
- £20.50 per hour (dayshift)
- £22.91 per hour (nightshift)

About the Role
First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot is seeking an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Automotive Electrician.
While PSV or HGV mechanical/electrical experience is a plus, we’re equally excited to welcome:
- Light Vehicle qualified candidates
- Ex-Forces personnel with engineering apprenticeships
- Experienced engineers from other sectors

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair vehicle electrical systems
- Identify faults, specify repairs, and replace parts
- Conduct road tests to verify vehicle performance
- Comply with HSE legislation, Group Policies, and SOPs
- Continuously develop technical expertise
About You
Successful candidates will fulfilled these criteria:
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Preference for PSV/HGV specialisation, but open to multi-skilled engineers
- Electrician/ex-electrical leaning in your experience
- A valid UK driving licence (PCV counselling is desirable; ability to obtain/upgrade essential)
