The Automotive Electrician will perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of auto electrical systems and equipment on commercial and specialist vehicles in Devizes. This full-time role includes fitting and commissioning CCTV systems, warning alarms, lighting, inverters, telematics, and other electrical accessories in line with company standards and legislative requirements.

Day-to-day tasks involve:

  • Diagnosing electrical faults
  • Carrying out systematic fault finding
  • Completing high-quality electrical repairs using approved parts and methods
  • Routine electrical maintenance
  • Testing and verifying system performance
  • Documenting work carried out
  • Liaising with customers and the wider team to ensure timely and safe completion of jobs

The Automotive Electrician will follow all health and safety procedures, support continuous improvement of installation practices, and contribute to maintaining the company’s reputation for reliable, compliant, and professional service.

  • Strong skills in Electrical Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for automotive electrical systems.
  • Effective Fault Finding abilities for diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues on vehicles.
  • Solid Electrical Repairs experience, including safe replacement, wiring, and installation of auto electrical components.
  • A sound understanding of Electricity principles and safe working practices in automotive environments.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in Auto Electrical, Vehicle Electrics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working on commercial or fleet vehicles, including CCTV, telematics, and safety systems, is beneficial.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, follow technical instructions, and use diagnostic tools confidently.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality workmanship, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work on-site and occasionally at customer locations as required.
