Overview
Expleo is a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services and management consulting for digital transformation. We help businesses harness unrelenting technological change to successfully deliver innovations that will help them gain a competitive advantage and improve the everyday lives of people around the globe.
An opportunity has arisen for an Automotive Software Test & Validation Engineer to support the development of advanced vehicle systems within a high-performance engineering environment. This role is central to ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of embedded software across multiple vehicle domains.
Working within an Agile development framework, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with system engineers, software developers, and vehicle integration teams to validate complex electronic and software systems. The technical scope spans modern automotive architectures, including CAN-based systems, Ethernet-enabled zonal architectures, AUTOSAR platforms, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing for cutting-edge vehicle technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute software test cases aligned with system requirements and technical specifications.
- Perform validation activities across defined electronic/electrical (E/E) domains (e.g. body systems, chassis, powertrain, infotainment).
- Conduct both static testing (HiL/test rigs) and dynamic vehicle-based testing.
- Configure, maintain, and optimise Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environments, including management of software configurations for test rigs.
- Analyse test results from formal test cases and real-world vehicle data, identifying defects and performance issues.
- Produce detailed defect reports, ensuring clear root cause analysis and escalation of issues impacting end-user experience.
- Collaborate with software development teams to plan and execute testing strategies within Agile workflows.
- Represent software testing and HiL capabilities in technical discussions with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Generate and maintain accurate documentation, including test reports, configuration records, and validation evidence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
