Job Description: Technical Trainer Grade 1
Reporting to our Technical Training Delivery Manager and based at our Training Academy, the Technical Trainer Grade 1 will deliver Technical Training programmes, which are business focused, professional, engaging and consistent with the business philosophy and policies.
This could be to new colleagues within our apprentice programme, or existing Kwik-Fit team members needing training development. As part of the People Team, you will deliver Technical Training initiatives that enable improved performance and productivity of our people. Experience in both technical and customer service skills including: Hybrid & Electric vehicles, MOT and customer care would be very beneficial.
The Role
- Deliver Technical Training programmes ensuring they are professional, consistent, uniform, and to the required standard adhering to company policy & guidelines
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all course documentation including the setting of examinations and the preparation of individual and course assessments
- Compliance with requirements for awarding bodies to ensure that approval to run
- Maintain equipment and training aids, either Kwik-Fit or externally provided, ensure that they are kept to a high standard and are current and up to date
- Contribute to the development of Technical Training programmes by participating in scheduled reviews of materials to ensure they remain up to date and fit for purpose in line with the company’s key business objectives
- Provide feedback to the Training Content Developer on any recommendations to improve the quality/content of Technical Training Materials
- Maintain technical awareness by keeping abreast of market developments, by engaging with CPD opportunities, reading trade magazines, keeping up to date with current affairs and legislation as it affects the motor industry
- Ensure that Technical Training Programmes are evaluated. Ensure that you adopt an ethos of continuous improvement and encourage feedback from stakeholders
- Utilise all opportunities to engage learners in functional skills

About You
- With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, acting as both a training ambassador for the business and a mentor when required
- Commercially focused with a strong focus around both technical and customer service-related course content
- A strong team player, able to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, well-organised and with great time management
- With high standards of appearance, conduct, performance, integrity, and confidentiality, positive, driven, and resilient
- Highly organised and able to deal with multiple activities at one time whilst maintaining quality of delivery
- Strong functional English and maths skills
- Beneficial - Practical experience of coaching in the workplace
- Beneficial - Training Delivery & Facilitation Skills with an understanding of learning styles and interventions to support individual learner needs
- Full UK Cat B Driver’s Licence - essential

Job Details
- This permanent role is based upon 40hrs per week between Monday and Friday based onsite at our Automotive Training Academy in Derby, to include travel to other UK sites if required by the business.
