Role Description

The Automotive Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Fallowfield, Manchester. As one of our technicians, you will perform routine vehicle maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and carry out repairs on a variety of makes and models.

  • Conducting inspections
  • Completing oil changes and filter replacements
  • Working on suspension and braking systems
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards

The role also involves:

  • Accurately documenting work performed
  • Communicating clearly with the office who are the main point of contact between Automotive Technicians and customers about findings
  • Following workshop procedures and health and safety guidelines

The technician will collaborate with colleagues, use diagnostic tools, and stay current with new technologies and repair methods.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong work ethic and be able to take accountability where required.

  • Strong skills in general Vehicle Maintenance and routine Maintenance & Repair tasks.
  • Hands-on experience performing Oil Changes and related fluid and filter services.
  • Proficiency in Automotive Repair, including mechanical diagnostics and component replacement.
  • Knowledge of Suspension systems, including inspection, repair, and alignment considerations.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or certification in automotive technology (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports.
  • Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and consistent quality of workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented workshop environment.
  • Experience with high-end or imported vehicles is beneficial but not required.
