Automotive Technician – Full-time – Yeovil

Role Description

This full-time, on-site position as an Automotive Technician is based in Yeovil. Key responsibilities include:

  • Routine vehicle maintenance, including inspections, servicing, and oil changes, strictly adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
  • Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Performing mechanical and electrical repairs, including servicing of suspension systems, brake systems, and other essential vehicle components.
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and recording work completed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and communicating effectively with the service team.
  • Contributing to a clean, organized workshop environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong skills in vehicle maintenance and routine servicing, including inspections and scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in automotive repair and general maintenance & repair across both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with suspension systems, including diagnosis, repair, and component replacement.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent) with workshop experience, preferably attained through an apprenticeship.
  • Ability to efficiently use diagnostic tools and follow technical manuals and repair procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety protocols, and dedication to high-quality workmanship.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Preferred (but not essential): Experience with German and Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
  • Valid UK driving licence is required.

Salary Range

£35,000 – £55,000 (depending on previous experience and skills).
