Avionics Systems Engineer

RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire
£47,250 - £52,500 + Excellent Benefits
SC Clearance Eligibility Required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to join an embedded engineering team at RAF Coningsby, supporting the UK's Typhoon programme.

Working alongside MOD stakeholders, you will play a key role in the assessment, evaluation, and assurance of advanced defence capabilities, contributing directly to the performance and effectiveness of mission-critical systems.

This role can be tailored to suit the experience of the successful candidate. Applications are welcomed from Associate Engineers with around three years' experience through to more experienced Senior Engineers looking to provide technical leadership and make an immediate impact.

The Opportunity

As part of an embedded team within 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron, you will apply systems engineering principles throughout the engineering lifecycle, supporting the development, testing, and evaluation of complex defence capabilities.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of developmental and operational test activities, helping to assess system performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the development and maintenance of software tools used to analyse test data and inform engineering decisions.
  • This is a fast-paced environment where your work can have an immediate and visible impact. During flight trials, the analysis and recommendations you provide can directly influence subsequent testing activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
