As a senior leader - AVP of Data Science (NTS) at Nasdaq, you will be accountable for shaping and executing strategies that advance our position as a global technology company powering markets and economies. Key Responsibilities Define and execute the AI strategy and roadmap for Nasdaq Trade Surveillance, ensuring alignment with product and business priorities Partner with Product Management and Engineering to translate strategic vision into scalable AI-enabled capabilities across detection, investigation, and automation Act as a senior AI leader across the organization, influencing stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Sales while representing AI capabilities to clients and external audiences Lead and scale a high-performing, multidisciplinary team spanning AI Engineering, Data Science, and Research, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence Establish robust, production-grade AI practices, including model deployment, monitoring, explainability, and governance aligned with enterprise standards Drive integration of AI into core surveillance workflows, ensuring scalable, compliant solutions that strengthen Nasdaq’s ability to detect and investigate market abuse Required Qualifications Extensive leadership experience in AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics, with proven success in building and scaling high-performing teams Demonstrated track record of defining and delivering AI strategies and solutions at scale within complex, enterprise environments Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including external stakeholders and clients Experience operating across both strategic and hands-on domains, contributing to innovation while leading delivery of production-grade solutions Deep understanding of governance, compliance, and working within regulated environments, with experience establishing AI governance or model risk frameworks Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver impactful outcomes Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial markets, trading, or trade surveillance environments Familiarity with product development lifecycles and SaaS-based technology platforms Exposure to enterprise AI governance, risk, or regulatory functions This position is based in London and offers a hybrid work environment with at least 3 days per week in-office, subject to change.
