The very exciting, newly created role of an Employee Relations Specialist at AVP level for our international team based in London.
About the Role
You will provide expert Employee Relations support across the international region by working closely with People Experience (PX), Legal, and business leaders. As part of the Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, you will:
- Design and embed a new service delivery framework to support employees and managers on ER-related topics.
- Ensure the fair, consistent, and compliant handling of workplace issues.
- Establish clear standards, strengthen ER practices, and implement a focused approach to employee relations strategy and risk management.
Role Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Enterprise Employee Relations (ER) framework, ensuring alignment with global PX strategy and regional employment regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve ER standards, processes, and tools (e.g., disciplinary procedures, performance management, involuntary separations) in line with global ER practices.
- Independently lead complex workplace investigations (including matters of harassment, discrimination, and GDPR/regulatory concerns) while partnering with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Legal, and PX Operations.
- Provide expert ER advice and guidance to Employee Relations Specialists, HRBPs, Legal, and business leaders to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
- Oversee the PX Operations Team, ensuring high-quality support for employee relations requests through the tiered support model and acting as a point of escalation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ER programs and processes across the International region, contributing to global ER reporting (case trends, risk indicators, and legal consulting analytics).
- Act as a trusted subject matter expert on workplace trends, emerging risks, and complex employee matters to support strategic decision-making.
- Design and deliver ER-related training for managers and employees, ensuring alignment with global standards and curriculum.
- Monitor and respond to regional legal and regulatory changes, collaborating with Country PX Leads and the Global ER team.
- Ensure alignment between International ER processes and global standards, sharing regional insights and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or Employment Law (or related field).
- 10+ years’ experience in Employee Relations, including exposure to high-risk matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to independently lead investigations and provide advice to senior leaders, with strong mediation and dispute resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, capable of assessing complex ER situations and recommending pragmatic-risk-driven solutions.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple ER cases and workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience developing or refining ER governance frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of labour laws, regulatory requirements, and ER best practices—particularly in EMEA, APAC, Canada (e.g., GDPR, whistleblower protections), with FMLA/ADA experience beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to stay updated on emerging employment law trends.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and ER case management systems (e.g., Workday Help).
